China and Indonesia Reaffirm Commitment for Closer Military Ties
Indonesia and China have reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying
military cooperation through transfer of technology.
Indonesia has welcomed China`s offer to cooperate in military technology and
in the production and marketing of military equipment. The cooperation apparently is driven by Indonesia`s desire to reduce dependence on Western military technology.
The Indonesian and Chinese governments signed a defense and security cooperation agreement in Beijing on November 7, 2007.
