Terror Group Jemaah Islamiyah Numbers dwindling
THE membership of radical Islamist group Jemaah Islamiah has plummeted. Arrests of more than 250 people had weakened the group's structure and sapped its regional strength.
At its height 10 years ago the clandestine organization had 2000 members. Its reach through Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and the Philippines had contracted to such an extent that it was now an Indonesian rather than regional organization.
JI members were convicted of carrying out the bomb attacks in Bali in 2002 that killed 202.
