Visitors in Bali should note that Thursday, September 24, 2015, is the Islamic Holiday of Idul Adha set by the Government - the day on which the “Father” of three Abrahamic religions made his epic offering to God. Also not that Thursday is a public holiday.

The fight against corruption in Bali continues. The new chief Police in Bali has quickly demoted and transferred three policemen from the Kuta police precinct accused of extorting money from 16 Australian men on holiday in Bali.

Following public outrage generated by a recent same-sex wedding in Bali, the Governor asks Non-Hindus not to use Hindu Religious Rituals in marriage celebrations. Meanwhile, Governor is lamenting reports of coercion by immigration officers at Bali’s Airport that he thinks have set back efforts to positively promote tourism.

Because of tourism, Bali’s economy is doing better than rest of Indonesia. Economic growth in Bali pegged at 6% for 2015.
