Getting top press in Indonesia and the region over the last week is the unfolding case of Kuta Police officers alleged to have extorted thousands of dollars from a group of Australian tourists. A Surabaya Court has ordered two hotels in Tanah Lot to pay Rp. 2.5 billion in damages for illegally airing the 2014 World Cup on their in-house TV systems. Waka Hotel Management (WHM) has re-launched the "NusaBay Menjangan by WHM" at the West Bali National Park. While, Grand Nikko Resort and L Hotel Seminyak announce key management appointments.

Aviation News: Both flights and passenger totals increased in July from Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport despite numerous cancellations and delays caused by the explosion of Mt. Raung.
