Ten injured in Thailand’s Songkhla bombing – Death toll reaches 4,000 since Separatists commenced Terror Campaign

BANGKOK:Ten people, including six rangers, were injured when a bomb exploded near a market at Thepha district in Songkhla province today. Thepha police chief Police Colonel Chaiwat Nittayawimol said the bomb hidden inside a motorcycle which was parked near the market, was detonated remotely when a truck carrying the rangers passed by the area about 6am.

The others injured were civilians, he said, adding that the 10 were warded at the Thepha Hospital.

More than 4,000 people have died since suspected separatists resumed their armed campaign to seek independence for the three southern provinces of Narathiwat, Pattani and Yala, seven years ago. -- Bernama
