Bali Updates
Om Swastiastu ...
Full report at: http://www.balidiscovery.com/update/update727.asp
A fire last week destroyed the Galuh Spa in Kuta, sending customers scampering for safety wrapped in only towels. We're not sure if the resulting traffic jam was caused by the fire or the scantily clothed customers.
Like a scene from a Hollywood film, a determined Italian women chased a purse snatcher through the streets of Kuta, caught him, and with the help of a few locals -gave him "what for." According to the press, a passing police patrol saved the man from becoming fuel for a second fire in Kuta.
In other news: worrisome reports that the rabies virus has been confirmed in the island's cattle and swine population; two Persian kittens were euthanized whilst being smuggled into Bali's port of Gilimanuk; the continuing saga of tigers in west Bali; a tragic whale beaching at Nusa Dua; more coverage on what to do with statues standing in areas designated areas for new flyovers roads; further discussion on a moratorium on new hotels projects; and plans to establish "smoke-free" zones public places across Bali.
Two exciting new attractions are soon to open in Bali. Read about the spectacular stage production and its home at the brand new Bali Theatre. There are also details of a transformation taking place along Kuta Beach with the building of the Kuta Beachwalk.
If you're looking for rooms during the Lebaran Holidays in September, better be quick! Call us for help if you're having trouble finding a hotel. By way of a further assist, Garuda will be adding 23,700 more seats on domestic and regional flights to help ease holiday traffic strains.
