Bali Updates
Om Swastiastu ...
This week’s top news includes new developments in what has become a nation-wide ATM scam; a self-assessment by Indonesia’s tourism Minister on the first 100 days of his second term; a formal response from Blue Bird Taxis to allegations they are operating illegally; and signs of trouble brewing at the Breezes Resort in Seminyak.
There's good news for traffic accident victims in Bali following a new memorandum of understanding concluded between the police, five Bali hospitals and a state-owned insurance company. A young Balinese chef returned home last week from Chile where he swept the prizes in a global cooking challenge. And, visas issued on board incoming flights may become more common following their trial introduction on board Garuda flights from Japan.
There also news of key management changes in Bali hotels.
Time on your hands in Bali? There’s lots of information in this week’s Bali Update on coming events in Bali. Join a spell-binding Concert by the Sea at the Meridien Hotel this Friday, February 12th. Belly Dancers descend on Bali for an international meeting of “movers and shakers” February 25-28th. Michelin-rated chef Emile Jung has a two-day engagement at Ubud’s Mozaic Restaurant February 19-20. And the Bali Spirit Festival returns to Ubud March 31 – April 4 for its third year.
