Indonesian, Australian armies to boost security cooperation
The Australian Embassy's defense attaché visited the Wirabuana Military Command headquarters Tuesday in Makassar, South Sulawesi, to strengthen cooperation between armies of the two countries. The Wirabuana Military Command oversees security in the five provinces in Sulawesi island.
The Wirabuana C.O. pointed out the security situation in Indonesia would affect Australia, saying cryptically that a threat from the north would have to pass through Indonesia before reaching Australia.
The northern islands bordering the Philippines were potential hiding places for terrorists from Moro in the south of that country.
